Tracked With Gilt #1

I hadn't forgotten about this blog. Further, more regular content is coming. As is a competition.
I've decided to comply with Tim's probably long forgotten music-related tag in sections. So here's the first.
A track from my early childhood:
Abracadabra- Steve Miller Band.

This song triggers an immediate reaction from me, and not necessarily an unpleasant one. It's a tiny shard of memory, sitting in the proportionally huge back-seat of my parent's car, travelling through Staines or thereabouts, while listening to this song's crisp neon-on-black sound. And that lyric: Abra, abracadabra, I wanna reach out and grab ya... it spoke to me. And it said "Women are mysterious, magical beings." It also said " 'I wanna reach out and grab ya' is an effective pick-up line." The only other song which I find as evocative to the 80s is 'Don't You Want Me Baby', and that doesn't come with any particular memories, so hopeful lust wins out over bitter emotional puppetry once again.
Incidentally, this photo of the Steve Miller Band seems to have been taken from inside a recycling bin. Nice.
